Hey! How was your day?
People make money online every day and this isn’t a deception anymore. I’ve been earning online for almost five years now. Of all my goals for the year, perhaps the most interesting is the desire to step up from Naira to Dollar – to start earning in dollars. The Nigerian Naira (NGN) continues to witness series of organic and state-sponsored devaluation. With high exchange rate, earning in dollar simply gives you an edge. But this piece isn’t about me, so let’s stick to Naira for start.
The Needed Edge… Naira for Start
There are several ways to earn online in Nigeria. Your skill set can earn you juicy remote jobs; freelancing, vlogging or blogging, e-book publication, affiliate marketing among others.
Of particular concern is Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts. Affiliate marketing is one of the biggest online businesses in Nigeria and there is no doubt about that.
If you aren’t participating in affiliate marketing, it’s time to consider taking advantage of this lucrative revenue stream. There are three different types of affiliate products you can promote:
- Physical Products
- Information Products
Affiliate Networks vs Affiliate Programmes
Affiliate networks are businesses that connect merchants and affiliate marketers so both can earn more money. Affiliate marketers use affiliate networks to make better product selections to promote on their site. Nigeria’s top Affiliate Network at the moment is Expertnaire. Beyond Affiliate Networks, some top Nigerian brands have their personalized affiliate programmes. Brands like Jumia, Konga, Piggyvest, Qservers, Payporte, VConnect, Bet9ja among others.
